From: Poison Apple Productions

Based on the life and legend of Charley Parkhurst, the infamous "whip of the west", Parkhurst was a fearless #1 driver stagecoach driver for Wells Fargo at the time - despite an accident involving a horse that lost the use of Parkhurst's left eye. Parkhurst was known for defeating "Sugarfoot" (the bandit), in epic stagecoach journeys across the California landscape - and upon Charley's death, was discovered to be a woman! Not just any woman, but the first female on record to vote in California. Come celebrate this trailblazer's story this summer in our open air theater space.

Join us at the Poison Apple Playhouse to support local theater and help us meet our fundraising goal of $6000!

MOANA JR

A Summer Mainstage Show at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek!

This thrilling and heartwarming coming-of-age story follows the strong-willed Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage. Moana and the legendary demigod Maui embark on an epic journey of self-discovery and camaraderie as both learn to harness the power that lies within.

Celebrating the rich history of Oceania and based on the beliefs and cultures of the people of the Pacific Islands, Moana was developed in collaboration with an Oceanic Trust – a group of anthropologists, cultural practitioners, historians, linguists, and choreographers from the Pacific Islands. The same respect and attention to detail used to develop the film was carried forward in the creation of this stage adaptation.
