This Saturday, January 6, 2024 promises to be a great day to experience aviation history up close.  Doors to the Museum open at 9:00am, regular admission prices are in effect (Members always admitted FREE), and we're putting the finishing touches on what promises to be a great "Hangar Talk."

"Hangar Talk" Line-Up

"Journey to the Stars!" Winning Entries to be Presented

In what has proved to be a delightful annual "Hangar Talk" tradition, we're thrilled to present to you the winning entries from the 2023 STUDENT ART CONTEST.

We're presenting awards for First, Second, and Third Place winners in three categories (1st & 2nd Grade, 3rd & 4th Grade, 5th & 6th Grade).

We promise you'll be amazed at these fantastic impressions of the theme "Journey to the Stars."  Join in the fun by cheering on our young artists as they receive their awards.

Medal of Honor Series Continues

We're continuing with our engaging look at some of the courageous recipients of the Medal of Honor - the military's highest award of service.

Today, Jim Llano of the Museum will take us back to the First World War and America's fledgling Army Air Service.  We'll meet an amazing individual – bold, brash, and a bit of a rebel – who in a short span of only 8 days achieved some remarkable accomplishments.

An Airplane in Every Garage

By the 1930s, Aviation had captured the public's imagination.  There were many – both in private industry and in government – who felt that an inexpensively produced and safer aircraft was all that was preventing adoption by the masses.

The Museum's Brian Finnegan will tell us the story of some early attempts to make flying more accessible for everyone and how ultimately, the idea of an airplane in every garage never got off the ground, but did yield some new technology and safety innovations.
