A Fresh Welcome for Apache Junction

Last week, District 5 Supervisor Jeff Serdy and Apache Junction Mayor Chip Wilson unveiled a rehabilitated Apache Junction monument on State Route 88 and Hackamore Road, a well-known landmark for locals and visitors alike.

The area around the monument has suffered damage from wildfires over the years. Fortunately, a group of dedicated community members came together to revitalize the monument. Click here to read more.

Additional Stage 1 Fire Restrictions Went Into Effect
on State Trust Lands This Week

An increase in fire activity and dry and warm weather prompted the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) to implement Stage 1 fire restrictions on State Trust lands within parts of Central Arizona.

Beginning on June 8, 2023, Stage 1 fire restrictions went into effect on State Trust lands within Gila, Maricopa, and Pinal Counties. This measure is necessary for public and firefighter safety due to the continued uptick in fire activity in these areas. These restrictions will be evaluated every week and will remain in place until rescinded. To learn more, click here.
