Janae Muchmore Named Osceola School District's School-Related Employee of the Year

Janae Muchmore, Community Relations Specialist, has been named as the 2023 School-Related Employee of the Year for the Osceola School District in recognition of her creative spirit, her exceptional work ethic, and her love of storytelling. Fresh off the heels of being a news reporter, she joined the Osceola School District in 2021 and immediately took on the challenge of telling the stories of public education to a higher level. She has a knack for finding the human interest in any story and connecting to stakeholders to further the district’s strategic communications efforts. She has expanded the district’s engagement on social media helping to make the Osceola School District a leader in school communications across the state. 

In today’s climate, Ms. Muchmore’s outstanding efforts have furthered the district’s goal to increase the number of advocates for public schools in Osceola County.  Any given day, she is out in our schools interviewing successful students, shooting videoes of the amazing work of highly-effective educators, creating social media posts to highlight schools’ successes, or using different communication platforms to ensure the community is informed and engaged in public education. 

Having practical workplace experience in social media, strategic communications, and crisis communications has enhanced her current graduate studies and provide experiences to draw from as she furthers her learning by earning her master’s degree online from the University of Florida.  She has quickly become an integral part of the day-to-day success of the district, as her commitment and passion for people and her work guide her to go above and beyond the call of duty. 

“I am extremely proud of how Janae represents the district as she continues to soar in her field by telling the stories through her creative lens to build an army of education advocates and showcase our schools, students, and staff,” said Osceola School District Superintendent Dr. Debra Pace. 

Superintendent Pace will now proudly forward her nomination on to the Florida Department of Education for consideration for Florida's 2023 School-Related Employee of the Year Award.
