Northern NJ Community Foundation Awards Grant to Armenian International Medical Fund for Cochlear Implants

Hackensack, New Jersey -- The Northern New Jersey Community Foundation (NNJCF) announces the Andrea Tilbian Halejian Memorial Fund awarded a grant of $13,5000 to the Armenian International Medical Fund (AIM Fund) in Glendale, California. The grant supports the AIM Fund's program to provide children and young adults with cochlear implants in the Caucasus region in Europe. The NNJCF, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Hackensack, New Jersey, concentrates on the focus areas of the arts, civic engagement, education, the environment, public health, and philanthropy.

The NNJCF's Andrea Tilbian Halejian Memorial Fund remembers the late Andrea Tilbian Halejian of Wyckoff, New Jersey and contributes to qualified charitable organizations and interests she supported. Since its inception, the NNJCF's Andrea Tilbian Halejian Memorial Fund has awarded grants to a range of organizations, including the Fund for Armenian Relief, Armenian Relief Society of Eastern USA, the Center for Peace, Justice & Reconciliation (PJR) at Bergen Community College, the Center for Food Action, Vitalant, Eva's Village, Careers Through Culinary Arts, and LA Family Housing.

Andrea Tilbian Halejian, her family and many of their friends cared for Armenian efforts on local, national and international levels. The Armenian International Medical Fund, a non-profit organization, undertakes its mission to create and maintain innovative health care programs in Armenia with the intention of developing Armenia as the Regional Center in the Caucuses. The AIM Fund gives free hearing screenings, provides hearing aids at minimum cost, performs Cochlear Implant and Bone Anchored Hearing Aid surgeries and trains future otologists in Armenia.
