It's that time of the year when we come together to celebrate the remarkable spirit of volunteerism that thrives in our community. The 44th Annual Volunteer Spirit Awards is just around the corner, and we're excited to announce that nominations are now open!

44th Annual Volunteer Spirit Awards will take place on Friday, April 12, 2024 in Tarrytown, NY.

Help us celebrate and shine a spotlight on the best and brightest volunteers during National Volunteer Month. Nominate today and let's come together to honor the unsung heroes of our community!

Award Categories

Nomination Deadline - November 17, 2023

Education & Literacy Award

Honors volunteers dedicated to education and literacy through activities including, but not limited to, tutoring, adult literacy, library-based initiatives, early childhood education, and intergenerational programs.

Going Green Award

Honors volunteers who work to protect and beautify our environment and natural surroundings, advocate for the preservation of our planet and strive to instill these values for our community.

Quality of Life Award

Honors volunteers who work to improve the quality of life in the following areas, including, but not limited to, working to reduce illness, homelessness, and poverty or assisting the disabled, elderly, and veteran populations, as well as those with substance abuse problems or mental disabilities.

Social Advocacy Award

Honors volunteers who advocate for and support the righting of injustice in our community in areas such as, but not limited to, human rights, minority rights, domestic violence, housing, and job preparedness.

Resiliency Award

Honors volunteers whose service for a cause or nonprofit has helped them overcome adversity or personal challenges, such as, but not limited to, intellectual or physical challenges, homelessness, incarceration, illness, or another life-changing event.

Youth Leadership Award

Honors volunteers (age 21 years or under) for her/his/their outstanding volunteer service for a cause or nonprofit.

To assist and guide you, we're thrilled to announce a Nomination Workshop on November 2, 2023, at 12:30 PM. Hosted via Zoom, this workshop is designed to provide insights, tips, and hands-on assistance to make your nomination stand out.
