January 5, 2023, Midland, MI. – On Friday, January 13, Bay City artists Josh Averill and Mark Piotrowski will light up the Creative 360 Bayliss Street gallery with electrifying art as the ‘Neon Waves’  exhibit opens in the Bayliss Street Gallery.

Neon light artist Josh Averill creates literal electric are, restores vintage neon signs and art in his neon studio. Tom Dymora introduced Averill to neon, sparking his passion for the art form. Josh often collaborates with artist Eddie Schingeck to create a fusion of mixed media art.

Award winning artist Mark Piotrowski is well known for his ongoing enamel and aluminum series, Wave Journeys, a quest to capture the shift that takes place in our minds and lives as we experience life. Piotrowski believes relationships with loved ones, friends, family, and the environment are the bright colors of our lives. An arts educator for Bay City Schools, he is also dedicated to his mural and design company, MARKed ARTs.

“This will be a one-of-a-kind exhibit in Midland with work that is exciting and fresh,” said Creative 360 Curator and program Director, Colleen Reed. “This unique exhibit was actually the inspiration for our Neon Ball event coming up later in the month.”

The Neon Waves exhibit opening reception is Friday, January 13 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm. Admission to this event, and to all gallery exhibits, is free and Creative 360 appreciates the donations that allow this practice to continue. The exhibit is on display through 2/19.
