Dr. Tanisha C. Ford, Professor of History at CUNY Graduate Center.

Moonlight & Movies: In Search of Bengali Harlem

Directors Vivek Bald and Alaudin Ullah introduce their film, In Search of Bengali Harlem (2022, 85 mins). This documentary follows Ullah from the streets of New York to the villages of Bangladesh, where he discovers his past and uncovers an extraordinary, little-known history of mid-20th century Harlem. Afterward, join a discussion with the filmmakers and City of Faith curator, Dr. Azra Dawood.
