Sonoma County Stories is a permanent Sonoma County history exhibition that will allow visitors to engage with the past in a brand-new way: through the power of storytelling. Featuring stories representing the many diverse histories and cultures of the county, this ambitious and innovative permanent exhibition will have at its core the Oral Histories of Gaye LeBaron.

Featured presenters include Gaye LeBaron and Elizabeth Herron - Sonoma County Poet Laurate.

Free Family Day and Hojalata Workshop with Life on Earth Art
October 14, 2023 12:00-4:00 PM

MSC is proud to partner with Life on Earth Art for this year's Día de Los Muertos exhibition. Come make a tin art piece "Hojalata" to commemorate a loved one who served in our military branches. This piece will be displayed and curated into one sculpture that will be part of an installation dedicated to military veterans.

This free workshop will be held in the Museum's Contemporary Art building.

Nature Abstracted
June 17 – November 5, 2023

Nature Abstracted: Chiyomi Taneike Longo, Bob Nugent, and Younhee Chung Paik features three Bay Area artists who make abstract art inspired by nature. These artists differ in style and technique, but they all share a deep love and respect for the environment and humanity’s relationship to the natural world.

2023 SoCo Clicks
August 16 - September 24, 2023

The third annual SoCo Clicks photography competition and exhibition showcases the work of students throughout Sonoma County.

The competition was open to current or previously enrolled Sonoma County students and welcomes photography produced within the last two years using color as well as black and white film, digital and alternative processes.

2023 Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)
September 9 - November 26, 2023

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a joyous remembrance of the lives of family members and loved ones who have passed and a celebration of the cycle of life. The holiday is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd throughout Latin America, but is more closely associated with Mexico, where it originated.

The Museum’s annual Día de los Muertos exhibition features artwork and altars created by local artists, students, and collectors including Life on Earth Art.

Sonoma County Stories
Opens September 9, 2023

Sonoma County Stories is a permanent Sonoma County history exhibition that will allow visitors to engage with the past in a brand-new way: through the power of storytelling. The exhibition, scheduled to open in 2023, will capture Sonoma County’s rich history, defined by a confluence of cultures and people, and a powerful connection to the land. Featuring stories representing the many diverse histories and cultures of the county, this ambitious and innovative permanent exhibition will have at its core the Oral Histories of Gaye LeBaron.

Public Star Parties at the Robert Ferguson Observatory

Join the RFO for presentations on astronomy in their classrooms throughout the course of the evening. Starting at dusk, the Observatory’s three main telescopes are open for your viewing. Friendly and knowledgeable docents are available to answer your questions.

Sonoma County Pomo Dancers Ocean Dance
Saturday September 16 at 2PM

At Sonoma Coast State Park, 7900 Carlevaro Way, Bodega Bay, CA 9492.

Be sure to bring beach/lawn chairs, water/snacks, and dress in layers. This event is free to the public, with a capacity of 200 attendees.
