Mountainside Public Library - December 14, 2023

Schools and Libraries

December 15, 2023

From: Mountainside Public Library

Mountainside Public Library is pleased to announce that starting on Monday, December 18, patrons who use downloadable items through Libby or eLibraryNJ will have access to almost double the number of eBooks and eAudiobooks!

Beginning this coming Monday, our eContent will be provided through the MAIN Alliance Consortium.

The transition for our patrons will be simple.

Here's what you need to know:

 - If you currently borrow books and audiobooks through Libby, you'll need to cancel your Libby card in eLibraryNJ and add your Libby card in MAIN. Once you do so, the user interface will be the same.

 - If you are in the middle of reading or listening to an eBook or eAudiobook, you will continue to have access to that item and should not make the switch until you no longer need access to it. Make the switch as soon as you're ready to borrow new titles.

 - Your holds will transfer with your card.

 - You'll continue to use the same username and password for your MAIN Libby account.

Whether you're a seasoned borrower on Libby or eager to join, get ready to have access to more than 40,000 eBooks and 28,000 eAudiobooks beginning next week!

Complete instructions can be found on our website at:

If you need help with your login information or have additional questions, please call the library at: 908-233-0115.

Remember, you can’t transfer your card until Monday, December 18.

This change is the Library’s first step toward joining the MAIN Alliance Consortium, which will take place in early May. The consortium will provide Mountainside Library patrons with access to materials from a network of 50 libraries throughout Union, Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, and Warren Counties.

More information about joining the MAIN Alliance Consortium will be available in the coming months.
