Concert: The Overlook String Quartet

The Overlook, a string quartet that originated in Upper Manhattan in the early days of the pandemic and who gave their first official performance at Morris-Jumel Mansion in 2020, returns to the mansion on Labor Day with special guest, two-time GRAMMY-nominated violinist and composer Curtis Stewart. The musicians will perform music by a number of living composers including Jessie Montgomery, Ulysses Owens Jr. and Stewart himself. Note: The rain date for this event is Thursday, September 8 from 12:00 PM–1:00 PM.

This exclusive, themed paranormal investigation gives you insider access to Manhattan’s oldest surviving house - on the anniversary of the Battle of Harlem Heights - which Washington and the Continental Army fought nearby while stationed at the Mansion. This tour will shine a light on the paranormal occurrences centering around the American Revolution, specifically the battle of Harlem Heights.
