Lunar New Year Lion Dance Performance

It's Lunar New Year! Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year, celebrates the beginning of a new year based on the lunisolar calendar. Welcome the Year of the Rabbit with this exciting lion dance performance from the Marin Chinese Cultural Association Lion Dance Team!

All ages are encouraged to attend this free event.

Poetry Submission Tea Party

Have you been curious about, pondering, or procrastinating submitting your poetry to literary journals and magazines? Let’s do it together in real time! Join us for this free, fun event in a supportive space that will give strategies, encouragement and inspiration to submit your poetry for publication.

The event will be led by Francesca Bell, a poet and translator with two published collections. Her work appears widely in magazines such as ELLE, North American Review, Mid-American Review, Rattle, and Salamander. She's served as poetry editor of River Styx, will serve as guest editor of the B O D Y, and is the current translation editor of Los Angeles Review.

Space is limited. Registration required.

LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Get Involved in Your Library

There are two openings on the Library Board of Trustees. This advisory board meets on the second Thursday evening of every month. Trustees advise the City Librarian on matters related to the Library, advocate for the Library, and make reports to City Council. Please note that the openings are only available to individuals who live within City limits - Library Board of Trustees Application (PDF)

Applicants from all backgrounds and life experiences are encouraged to apply. New terms begin March 1st 2023 for a three-year period. Application Deadline on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 5:00 pm Learn more and apply today!

Read to a Dog!

Saturday, January 21st | 1:00 - 2:00pm

Children's Room

Reading to a dog is fun and helps build confidence! Kids ages 5 and up will have the opportunity to show off their reading skills to a new furry friend.

For kids 5 and up. No sign-up neccessary.
