MMFA Art Walk

The gallery and sculpture garden show a new side at night, as the avenue glows beneath twinkling stars in the crisp, desert night air. Take a self-guided art tour of our sculpture garden where you can wonder at Anthony James' Portal Icosahedron, as seen in the new Netflix movie, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

We are also pleased to announce the return of our concert series! Bring a chair and join us in the sculpture garden at 4:30pm for performances by the students of the Academy of Musical Performance (AMP), participate in the interactive public art experience Wall4All, and view monumental sculpture under the starry sky.

The gallery will be open until 7pm. Refreshments will be served.

The Modernists
Opening Reception

Melissa Morgan Fine Art proud to present The Modernists, a group exhibition celebrating the diversity and creativity of iconic artists of the Post-War Modernism movement, through a selection of paintings and sculptures drawn from the Gallery’s collections.

Although many different styles are encompassed by the term, Modernism, there are underlying principles that define modernist art and tie all the artists in this exhibition together: A rejection of history and conservative values; innovation and experimentation with form with a tendency to abstraction; and an emphasis on materials, techniques and processes. Each artist in this special exhibition, in collaboration with Palm Springs Modernism Week, has played an important role in the modernist movement through their use of new imagery, materials and techniques to create artworks that reflect the realities and hopes of modern societies.

The exhibition includes works by Bill Barrett, Bruce Beasley, Laddie John Dill, Leo Marmol, Joseph McDonnell, Ed Moses, Marcia Roberts, and James Surls.
