A talk and tasting:

The Simple Art of Rice with Chef JJ Johnson
Monday, September 18, 6:30pm
Rice can be found at the center of tables across the world. Take a bite with Chef JJ Johnson, whose restaurant FIELDTRIP is based in Harlem—a neighborhood filled with myriad immigrant communities where rice can represent the area’s diverse culture. In addition to a complimentary glass of wine and rice bowls from the restaurant, celebrate the launch of his new book, The Simple Art of Rice: Recipes from Around the World for the Heart of Your Table. The James Beard Award winner will join co-author Danica Novgorodoff and MCNY curator Monxo López to discuss the power of food to connect us to each other across the globe or just around the block.

This program is part of Eat Your Heart Out, a series of talks and tastings accompanying the exhibition Food in New York: Bigger than the Plate.

Complimentary wine and small rice bowls from Chef JJ's restaurant FIELDTRIP are included in your ticket! A book signing will follow the talk (Books will be available for sale).
