Massillon Museum Membership Drive

The Massillon Museum’s annual membership drive is underway. Operations Officer Scot Phillips, who coordinates the membership campaign, says this year’s goal is to finish the year with 825 members. The campaign will continue through the end of the year.

“Membership has been growing exponentially during the past few years,” Phillips said. “We’re working hard to keep the trend moving.”  He cites members-only events, advance notification of Museum events, and discounts on programs, classes, and Museum shop purchases as the most popular membership benefits.

“Membership support is essential to the Massillon Museum,” said Executive Director Alexandra Nicholis Coon. “It augments the income we receive from property taxes, which cover only about 70% of our total operating budget. “Membership monies provide essential unrestricted funding for some of the special projects we organize.”

Individual memberships are $25; the entire family receives membership advantages for $50. Students may join for $10.  Pets can join for just $5 or $10. Memberships are available at many higher levels. Corporate members qualify for additional rewards. New members receive a Museum logo item.

To become a member of the Massillon Museum, contact Phillips at 330.833.4061 x110, stop at the reception desk for a membership brochure, or visit massillonmuseum.org.

Although the membership drive continues through the end of the year, new members are welcome at any time throughout the year.

The Massillon Museum is open to the public with no admission fee from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.  MassMu extends it hours until 7:00 p.m. on the last Saturday of every month to collaborate with Massillon’s Last Saturday event.

MassMu is located at 121 Lincoln Way East in downtown Massillon.  For more information, call the Museum at 330.833.4061 or visit massillonmuseum.org. A visit to the Museum is always free.
