MassMu Offers Ceramics Open Studio in October

The Massillon Museum is offering open studio time in its ceramics facility on Wednesdays throughout October. Registration is now open—contact Stephanie Toole, education and outreach manager, at 330-833-4061 x104.

The studio will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. to adults who have previously studied ceramics at MassMu or another institution. No instruction is available during Ceramics Open Studio. The Museum also offers the program on Saturdays, but those sessions are full.  A waiting list is available.

Participants may use the studio for any amount of time during the open hours. The number of registrants is limited to allow maximum availability of the pottery wheels and studio equipment.

The monthly fee is $50 ($40 per MassMu member). New members are welcome at any time. Use of tools, wheels, glazes, and firing are included in the fee. Participants may bring their own clay or purchase a 25-pound bag from the Museum for $20.

The Massillon Museum receives operating support from the Ohio Arts Council and ArtsinStark, as well as marketing support from Visit Canton. This program is funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Massillon Museum is located at 121 Lincoln Way East in downtown Massillon. A visit to the Massillon Museum is always free. Free parking is available on adjacent streets and in nearby city lots. For more information, call the Museum at 330-833-4061 or visit massillonmuseum.org.
