Greetings from The Absecon Lighthouse, The Marine Mammal Stranding Center, and Sea Goddess Healing Arts!

We are requesting your help and support! Calling on Sponsors, Vendors, Donors, Volunteers, Event Goers, Educators, Magic Makers, and Good Vibes!

On Saturday, September 17 we are hosting our First Annual Last Splash Festival! A Fundraiser to benefit The Absecon Lighthouse and Marine Mammal Stranding Center. Our intention is for our community to celebrate the end of summer together, while continuing to support the clean up and healing of our ocean and cities. Let's celebrate as a community! No donation is too large or too small, all participation is welcome, and dressing up as a mermaid or pirate is encouraged! Thank you for taking the time to read this! Please email us if you would like to contribute in any way!

With deep gratitude,

The Staff of the Marine Mammal Stranding Center

Below is our event description, more information, and shareable graphics!

WELCOME to The Last Splash: Mermaid & Pirate Festival to Raise Ocean Awareness on Saturday, September 17th, 2022 from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm(Rain Date will be Saturday, September 24th). The Ocean is part of our home and it's important we continue to take better care of it. This is a FUNDRAISER to benefit The Marine Mammal Stranding Center (MMSC) and The Absecon Lighthouse. Both organizations have been beacons in our community and continue to shine their lights on our home.

We invite you to join us for a day of celebration, awareness, education, gratitude, inspiration, and community! Enjoy the 2 acre property at The Absecon Lighthouse in Atlantic City, just a block from the beach! There will be music, vendors, workshops, a treasure hunt, kids activities, costume contest and more! This event is also just before International Talk Like a Pirate Day on Monday, September 19th! Pack a picnic and enjoy soaking in the last moments of summer at the shore with us.

Formed in 1978, MMSC's mission is the rescue, rehabilitation and release of marine mammals and sea turtles. The Marine Mammal Stranding Center is the only Federally-authorized animal hospital in the State of New Jersey that responds to these animals in distress and provides medical treatment. The MMSC has responded to over 5,800 marine mammals and sea turtles since the beginning of their rescue mission.

First lit on January 15, 1857, The Absecon Lighthouse is New Jersey's tallest lighthouse at 171 feet. It's the third tallest masonry lighthouse in the US and the oldest structure in Atlantic City. The lighthouse has a total of 240 steps, with visitors able to climb 228 to the Watchroom and enjoy the gorgeous views. It’s the only lighthouse in New Jersey with its original first-order Fresnel Lens still in place at the top. Although Absecon Lighthouse was officially decommissioned in 1933, the lens is lit every evening for people to enjoy its beauty.

If you'd like to be a vendor, please complete and submit the online vendor application form here. Vendor donations are discounted to $35 if an approved application is received before September 1st!
