1.  Dog Licensing for the June 2022 to June 2023 license begins June 1st. For options of how to obtain a new license please go to http://townclerk1.townofmanchester.org/index.cfm/dog-license/

2. The Redevelopment Agency will hold a Special Meeting on Thursday June 2, 2022, at 7:30 A.M. in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room, 494 Main Street, Manchester CT.

3. The Spruce Street Farmers Market will run Wednesdays, 6/1-8/31, 4:30-7:30 on Market Field, 153 Spruce Street. The Northwest Park Farmers Market will run Wednesdays, 9/7- 10/26, 4:30-7:30 at Northwest Park, 448 Tolland Turnpike. Both markets feature Connecticut farms, prepared food vendors, and artisans. Both accept SNAP/EBT and double the value of SNAP purchases. Spend $10.00 using your EBT card, receive an additional $10.00 to spend on fresh produce. New for 2022: POP (Power of Produce) Kids' Club. Each child will receive a free $2.00 POP Bucks coupon weekly to be redeemed for fresh produce. Please contact Cynde at [email protected]  with questions.

Newcomers Meeting

The next Senior Center Newcomer’s meeting, open to those 60+ and Manchester Resident will be held on Wed. June 15 at 11:00 AM in the Senior Center Library. New members will receive introductions to our programs and tour our facility. Please register with the front office by calling (860) 647-3211 ahead of time so we may properly prepare for your visit. If you would like to have lunch with us, please register for lunch by 12:00 Noon on June 14. We look forward to your visit!

5. Celebrate Manchester! June 4-12

Formerly known as Pride In Manchester, this is the 31st anniversary of the town's weeklong celebration and starts with a free concert at Center Memorial Park on Saturday, June 4, at 6:30 p.m. featuring 'Soul Sound Review.

Free family friendly events and activities all week long! 6. Celebrate Manchester at the Elks Lodge Thursday, June 9th!

The Manchester Elks Lodge will be cooking up a barbecue chicken dinner with all the fixins which will be free to our veterans to show our appreciation and support. 7. Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Online Appointments are now mandatory for all Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) events. Click the link to schedule your appointment to bring your HHW to 321 Olcott St. Manchester CT.

Collection dates for 2022 are: June 4, Aug. 27, Sept. 24, Oct. 29 and Nov. 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Manchester regional center for household hazardous waste collection. A fall outreach collection will also be held Oct. 15 in Stafford.

8. Manchester Veterans Council Meeting June 6 at 7:00 PM. at the Army & Navy Club.

The council consists of the Manchester Chapters of American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, The Marine Corps League, The Army & Navy Club, Vietnam Veterans Association and the World War I Association. The Council typically meets on the first Monday of each month, except July and August.

Ladybug Tea - Join us for Tea and Cookies and Ladybugs! Learn about these neat insects and do a fun craft. Grades: PK, June 17, 2022; 10:00am - 10:30am.

10. NAMI CT is running support groups for various populations (Families, Peers, Young Adults) which can be joined here:  https://namict.org/find-support/support-groups/ 

Manchester virtual meetings  of Family Support Groups will meet on the first and third Thursdays of the month.

Family Support groups are open to family and friends of those with lived experience of mental illness; there is no requirement that you be a member of NAMI in order to attend.

A Spousal Support Group now meets on the Third Monday of each month at 7 p.m.

11. Conversations for Racial Healing.

The New Wineskins Faith Community is pleased to announce its theme and topics for this year’s Conversations for Racial Healing. ZOOM meetings will be held Thursdays June 2nd, June 16th, and June 30th, from 7 to 8:30 pm. The format for each session includes reflections by a guest speaker, whole group presentations, and small group breakout sessions coordinated by skilled facilitator, Valerie J. Payne.
