-Madeira City Schools and offices will be closed March 27 - 31 for spring break. Have a safe and restful week and we’ll see you back on April 3!

-Congratulations to MES second grade teacher Tammy Roberts on being selected as the district’s 2023 Educator of the Year! A huge thank you to the parents, community members, students, and fellow staff members who nominated educators. For more please see Celebrating Excellence.

-GREASE School Version comes to Medert Auditorium April 20, 21 and 22! This abridged version retains the fun-loving spirit and immortal songs that make the show a favorite among rock and roll fans of all ages. Tickets can be purchased at MHS Presents Grease or by scanning the QR code on the GREASE banner on our website. 

A free performance of GREASE School Version for Senior Citizens who are residents of Madeira will be held Wednesday, April 19. A continental breakfast will be at 9 AM and the show will begin at 10 AM. An optional $5 lunch will be held afterward.  Reservations are needed for the performance and for the luncheon - contact Beth at 891-8222 or [email protected].

News from the Madeira Schools Foundation: 

-Each year the Madeira Schools Foundation awards upwards of $20,000 to graduating seniors for achievements they accomplished while at Madeira High School. The Foundation is proud to offer the opportunity to apply for scholarship awards again this year. Applications will be accepted online only this year, no later than Thursday, March 23.  Please visit MSF Scholarships for more information. 

-Just in time for spring, students in Madeira Music Programs are selling Natorp’s gift cards. Orders will be taken until April 3, with the delivery of gift cards the week of April 10. Each $25 gift card sold raises $6 to benefit the Madeira Music Programs for all grades. Cards may also be ordered online at madeiramusic.com.  

-Madeira’s National Honor Society would like to invite daughters and their fathers, stepfathers, or a role model of their choice to attend Madeira’s Father-Daughter Royal Ball on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 7-9 PM in the Madeira High School gymnasium. This event is for Madeira residents in preschool to 6th grade (as a result of the restructuring of the MES grade level configuration for 2023-24, this will be the final year for 6th graders to attend). Scan the QR code on our home page or see NHS Father Daughter Dance to purchase tickets by April 12, 2023 - tickets will not be sold at the door. Space is limited - tickets may sell out.

-Congratulations to the MHS Latin Club for placing third in Ohio in overall points at the Ohio Junior Classical League (OJCL) convention in Columbus. The convention brings together over 800 students, teachers, and parents from across the state of Ohio to celebrate the study of Latin with art contests, academic tests, and a talent show. The also received recognition as the largest Latin Club in the state of Ohio with 86 total members.
