MOONAGE DAYDREAM

Oct. 21 -Oct. 27

Moonage Daydream is an unconventional take on the life and genius of David Bowie, one of the most creative and influential artists of our time. But for many, Bowie was more than a songwriter and performer: he inspired a generation (or two) to embrace freedom of thought, gender identity, musical expression and fashion. Told through never-before-seen footage, , Brett Morgen's movie explores David Bowie's epic journey from Brixton to the entire planet...and the universe beyond. Moonage Daydream is first film sanctioned by his estate, which contributed rare or previously unreleased live tracks remixed by Bowie’s longtime producer, Tony Visconti. Hearing Bowie songs, including Life on Mars, Changes, and Let’s Dance on Cinestudio’s exceptional sound system is an experience that shouldn’t be missed!

THE SHINING

Oct. 21 @ 10pm

(ONE NIGHT ONLY)

Halloween, Samhain, & the Celtic New Year are quickly approaching, and what better reason to risk being scared out of your pants! Moonlight Movies presents one of the most terrifying movies ever made, on the all-enveloping screen, for one night only. You won’t want to go home alone after seeing Stanley Kubrick’s beyond-creepy implosion of a “typical” American family. Jack Nicholson is at his sharpest as an increasingly unhinged writer who spirits his family away to act as caretaker for the mysterious Overlook Hotel. Much to the dismay of his wife (an unforgettable Shelley Duvall), horror, visions of twins, and “redrum” wait behind every door… Just remember, “All work and no fun make Jack a dull boy…”

THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW

Oct. 29 @ 5pm & 11pm

(ONE NIGHT ONLY)

In 1976, Cinestudio began screening late shows of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Since that fateful year, a fringe hit became a cult classic, as growing audiences shouted out favorite lines, dressed in character, and performed The Time Warp (Again). Join young sweethearts Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon) as they undergo all manner of horrors and delights hosted by the irresistible Dr. Frank N. Furter (Tim Curry). It’s sex-positive and a celebration of difference - once you’ve experienced Rocky Horror on the big screen, you’ll never be the same.
