Last Call For Participation In Development Of Local Roadway Safety Plan

Government and Politics

July 23, 2022

From: City Of American Canyon

Over the past few months, the City of American Canyon has been developing its Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP) to analyze the City's collision trends and develop countermeasures that can most effectively address the safety issues contributing to collisions within the City.

Are there areas of concern that you feel need special attention? Let us know through an interactive project map.

Share your thoughts on safety issues within the city by taking a quick survey.

We want to hear from YOU! You have until July 29, 2020 to provide your feedback about City street safety for inclusion in the LRSP.  Learn more about the LRSP, and submit feedback about City streets at https://ghd.mysocialpinpoint.com/american-canyon-lrsp/home

LRSP Information:

As traffic calming and safety remain a high priority in the City, development of the LSRP will coincide with the City’s We Safe Streets Traffic Calming Program. This living plan will be adopted by American Canyon's City Council with plans for reevaluation every 5 years. The overall goal of an LRSP is to reduce fatalities and injury collisions, particularly at high-frequency locations where low-cost countermeasures can be applied or systemically to sites with similar risk characteristics.

With an adopted LRSP, the City of American Canyon will have direction on how to navigate road safety, safety goals and prioritized projects for future Highway Safety Improvement Plan (HSIP) applications. LRSPs also empower agencies to incorporate safety into routine business and allow for greater awareness of road safety and risks to reduce injuries and fatalities now.
