Kentler International Drawing Space is pleased to present Light + Material, a solo exhibition of new large-scale textile drawings by Maureen McNeil.

Maureen McNeil creates large-scale fabric pieces through a process of drawing, cutting, layering, pinning and hand sewing. McNeil pushes past the traditional confines of drawing. As a writer as well as a visual artist, McNeil’s work blends abstraction with storytelling, referencing moments in history along with life experiences.

A brochure with an essay by Barbara Friedman accompanies the exhibition.
