Government and Politics

September 20, 2022

From: Kansas Governor Laura Kelly

Governor Kelly Announces 50,000 Jobs Created and Retained Since Taking Office

“50,000 jobs represents 50,000 opportunities for Kansans across the state to achieve their dreams and provide greater futures for themselves and their families. These job numbers, combined with the record-setting levels of new private-sector investment, have driven down our unemployment rates to historic lows while underscoring the strength of the Kansas economy – both now and into the future.”

Governor Kelly Urges EPA to Reject Regulations That Would Hurt Kansas Farmers

“I’m standing with Kansas farmers in urging the EPA to reject overly burdensome regulations that jeopardize our ag industry’s ability to feed families, provide jobs, and produce record-setting agricultural exports. These new requirements don’t improve safety – but they could limit crop yields and drive up prices at a time when we should be doing everything we can to fight inflation.”

Governor Kelly Announces $6.5M for Sexual and Domestic Violence Programs, Child Advocacy Centers, CASA Programs

“We have a responsibility to do all we can to protect victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. These grants will strengthen our services and provide support to those who need it most.”

Governor Kelly Honors Victims of 9/11 at City Park in Manhattan on 21st Anniversary

“21 years ago today, the entire world saw the strength and resilience of the American people. Thank you to the Flint Hills Volunteer Center staff for organizing this Day of Remembrance. Children from the Manhattan community gave me this rock to remind all Kansans, especially our youngest generation, to never forget the events of this day.”
