Journey through the Heart of Americana with 'The Wildwoods'

Arts and Entertainment

February 10, 2024

From: Pump House Regional Arts Center

La Crosse, WI -- Join us for a folk/Americana concert that defies the boundaries of genre. The charming and nostalgic trio, The Wildwoods, return to La Crosse for a concert at Pump House Regional Arts Center on 119 King Street in downtown La Crosse.

Featuring the musical talents of Chloe Gose (Violin), Noah Gose (Guitar), and Andrew Vaggalis (Bass), The Wildwoods have emerged as a force in the folk scene. Their influences range from Watchhouse and Nickel Creek, to Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. While their music sits comfortably under the folk/Americana umbrella, their story is a symphony of exploration and connection that pushes musical boundaries. Their harmonies resonate with artful sincerity, drawing inspiration from nature, their shared experiences of growing up in Nebraska, and life on the road.

The Wildwoods boast accolades like being finalists at the Fresh Grass Music Festival Band competition and Gems on VHS "Gems in the Rough" competition in 2023. Their songwriting prowess is underscored by semi-final placements in the International Songwriting competition, with tracks like "Untitled" and "Way of Train." Recognized consistently at the Omaha Arts and Entertainment Awards, they were crowned "Best Band" by the Lincoln Journal Star’s Lincoln Choice Awards in 2022.

Tickets can be purchased online at thepumphouse.org, by calling 608-785-1434, or by visiting the Pump House Box office at 119 King Street in La Crosse.
