Join Us For Art Walk & Eastworks Open Studios This Weekend

Arts and Entertainment

November 7, 2022

From: Easthampton City Arts+

Art Walk Easthampton is this FRIDAY NOVEMBER 4th from 5-8pm! We've got a fabulous lineup of exhibitions and activities and the full listings can be found Here.

We encourage you to visit ECA Gallery to see Eva Lin Fahey’s incredibly moving exhibition “What I Brought with Me”. As many of you may remember, Eva was a studio resident through ECA’s Art Workspace Easthampton (AWE) program last year and it’s so wonderful to see her new paintings here on these walls. Eva writes:

“‘What I Brought with Me (away from the motherland)’ shows a collection of paintings by Eva Lin Fahey that hold loss and connection close together. The precursor to a larger body of research-based work to come, this show starts the conversation on how new generations learn and remember the histories of their families. While these paintings center specifically on the ripple effect of China’s One Child Policy and the scattering of families that resulted, Fahey is deeply led by the complex roles our families play in the creation of our identities. She wonders, through her paintings, what she brought with her from her birth family, and what was left behind.”

Also featured at Old Town Hall this month is CitySpace's Blue Room Pop-up and Michael Sjostedt's work at Big Red Frame & Elusie Gallery.

Galleries and studios are also open in Eastworks, Paragon, and in the Cottage Street Cultural District!

Open For Art Walk & Eastworks Open Studios:
A Celebration of AWE: Sharing the Artworks of ECA’s Past & Present Studio Residents

We’re super excited for Eastworks Open Studios this coming weekend (Saturday 11/5 & Sunday 11/5 from 10am-5pm) and are honored to present for you all an exhibition of artworks created by participants of Art Workspace Easthampton (AWE), ECA’s studio residency program. As many of you know, this program was launched in 2020 when we transformed our gallery spaces into artist studios during the onset of the pandemic, when community members weren’t able to gather together in person. We’ve continued this program at Eastworks ever since—and we’re thrilled to present to you the first exhibition of its kind! More details below.. and the show will be open for Art Walk this Friday November 4th, too!

A Celebration of AWE:

See you all at Art Walk Easthampton on every First Friday of the month from 5-8pm! See full listings here!

Easthampton City Arts (ECA) is thrilled to collaborate with Danielle Tait Photography for this exciting and creative fundraising initiative that integrates art, local businesses, and community. As a city organization with a mission to create positive, innovative, and accessible arts programming and cultural events to generate and increase opportunities for artists and the local economy, ECA will apply 100% of the proceeds raised through this program to directly support working artists in our community, through upcoming programming.

*We've raised more than $1,000 so far and all of these funds were added to the ECA Artist Grants Initiative so that more artists can be supported through this program.

Thank you so much, Danielle, for reaching out to ECA and for offering this wonderful opportunity to work together to raise more funds for local artists!

Here's a list of locations throughout downtown Easthampton where you can purchase a pin! Many thanks to all of our retail partners for your participation!
