PERFORMER ANNOUCEMENTS

We are thrilled to announce four more confirmed acts for the 31st Annual Millpond Music Festival! Check out the previously announced performers here.

THE TWO TRACKS

With poignant lyrics, powerful melodies, and tight instrumentals, The Two Tracks explore a range of themes and emotions in their music. Husband and wife team of The Two Tracks, Julie and Dave Huebner write songs that traverse the male and female perspective, drawing inspiration from the rural surroundings of their home in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming. Julie’s driving rhythm guitar, on-stage enthusiasm, and vocal prowess merge perfectly with Dave’s rich voice and spellbinding cello playing, adding a unique layer to the band’s sound. This is perfectly complemented by the four-part harmonies and rock-solid groove filled out by Taylor Phillips on bass and Fernando Serna on drums. Their live show features an array of sounds, from introspective ballads to foot-stomping anthems…. songs that reflect their earthy authenticity and a genuine love for their craft.

JELLY BREAD

Jelly Bread has risen from Reno/Lake Tahoe area favorites into a nationally- touring, powerhouse quintet that delivers a high-energy, chameleonic playlist all over the United States. Jelly Bread’s distinct style is identified by a blend of desert twang meeting the urban tones of funk and rock. Exceptional songwriting and storytelling interlaced with four part harmonies, intricate “in-the-pocket” drum and bass grooves, swampy lap steel guitar, dirt under the fingernails guitar licks, tasty talkbox, “take-’em-to-church” organ come together into a sound that is downright appetizing.

We are excited to welcome back Jelly Bread to the Millpond stage!

RON ARTIS II

Hailing from Haleiwa, HI, Ron Artis II brings a unique soulful-honest-songwriting style to the stage. Performing all original music and energizing audiences all across the globe. You’ll be sure to leave the experience feeling loved, electrified and pondering the lyrics.

We are so excited to have Ron Artis closing the festival on Sunday. Our expert opinion is that everyone should just plan on taking Monday off so they can enjoy the fantastic Sunday lineup.

HAY BLACKBIRD

Hay Blackbird is an Eastern Sierra stringband local to the Eastern Sierra. Their mountain music is inspired by life in the mountains, featuring long time local Bishop area musicians Ray Finch on banjo and Howie Schwartz on guitar and resonator guitar. The core of their sound is linked to tradition by melodies that have endured for generations, travelling from the country’s oldest mountains in Appalachia to some of its youngest here in the Sierra. Ray’s clawhammer style banjo sets the familiar, old-time groove and Howie’s flatpicking and slide guitar help imbue a modern and unique interpretation of fiddlistic melodies and rollicking dance tunes, as well as handcrafted original music. Joining the band at Millpond will be the immensely talented fiddler, hailing from Lone Pine, Anna Schaad Montgomery, and Bishop native now living and working in the San Diego music scene, Ryan Finch on bass.

Hay Blackbird is honored to take the Millpond stage this year and share the joy of music with you all in one of the finest festival venues in the West!
