Art Show & Lecture Series

As a companion to our current Coast Guard Art Show, we will embark on a journey through an engaging lecture series, Get To Know Your Home Town Coast Guard featuring the captivating adventures of our local Point Allerton Coast Guard crew members. Explore tales of courage, skill, and resilience as we delve into their heroic missions and the vital role they play in safeguarding our waters. Join us for an enlightening exploration of maritime heritage and the enduring legacy of our Coast Guard heroes with C.O. Justin Young, and fellow crew members.

April Highlights:

Pasquale's Prints Steps In

Proudly displayed alongside our newly acquired lifecar is a familiar portrait of Joshua James and his crew reframed by Nick Cotoulas, owner of Pasquale's Prints. The original, photographed in the late 1800s by legendary Boston photographer, Baldwin Coolidge, is part of the Historic New England collection. The large view cameras of the era used very large film sizes resulting in crisp, detailed images. Come visit us at the museum to get a closer look at this distinguished and formal portrait of Josh and his crew.

Volunteers from Mosquito Joe of Braintree-Weymouth Lending a Hand

When rainy days keep Jody Cowen and her Mosquito Joe crew from their usual work they can be found lending their talents in our Navigation Loft on the 2nd floor of the museum. They're brightening up the spaces with a fresh coat of paint in preparation of a summer of fun-filled adventures for kids in the loft.

Harbor Nature Cruise

We had a full boat of over 300 guests on the Hull Lifesaving Museum's second annual Harbor History / Nature Cruise. We said this was going to be a "not to be missed" event and we were certainly spot on. The Massachusetts Bay Lines vessel Freedom was a great viewing platform and expert history narration by Sean Baggett along with fascinating information on the sea birds we encountered provided by Chris Durante and Stephen McGurl made the trip a success ... of course, Mother Nature cooperated with a beautiful clear sky and light winds. Check out the cruise photos and stay tuned for more Hull lifesaving Museum events!!
