Winter Wonderland Festival of Trees

Gathering with friends and family is a great way to kick off the holiday season. Share the joy and community that is the Hull Lifesaving Museum's Festival of Trees. On display will be 11 Christmas trees decorated and sponsored by local businesses and families that will be donated to Wellspring Multi-Service Center to help spread some holiday magic. So come by, have some cocoa, wander through our indoor winter wonderland and vote for your favorite tree.

Flying Santa!

Join us for the return of a wonderful New England Tradition! Since 1929, Flying Santa has been celebrating those who guard our shores, first by dropping gifts for Light Keepers, now by visiting Coast Guard families with a gift for every Coast Guard child. The Hull Lifesaving Museum is proud to be a "Candy Cane Stop" on Flying Santa's fantastic voyage. Children will have a chance for a quick visit with Santa and a photo.

Letters to Santa

Must be dropped off at the museum by Monday, December 11

Step into the holiday enchantment by dropping off your letters for Santa in the special mailbox at the Hull Lifesaving Museum. Don't forget you can also create and write your letters right here at the museum for an extra dose of festive fun. We're excited to announce that the special letters received will be featured in the December 14 edition of the Hull Times. Let the magic of the season come alive through your heartfelt messages. Don't miss the chance to be part of this enchanting holiday tradition!

HLM is participating in this exciting event which has taken place yearly since 1901. You may join us for as much or as little time as you like. If you are interested, please send us an email and roughly what hours you would like to participate. We will send you back information on how to meet up with our group as we will be at different locations throughout the day and can send updates as we go.

This will be an exciting day for anyone who loves the outdoors and nature. Dress warm and bring a camera and binoculars if you have them. There will be a midday break at the museum for coffee, tea, cookies, and restrooms. To learn more email us or call us at (781) 925-5433.

News from the Waterfront

Recapping our 2023 Icebreaker: Northeast Region Youth Open-Water Rowing Championships

We're in awe of the talents and accomplishments of the many youth racers who participated in our annual Icebreaker Northeast Region Youth Rowing Championships. They travelled from Downeast Maine, Vermont, NYC, New Haven and South Shore for this once-a-year celebration. Thanks to all the rowers, coaches, parents, volunteers, and spectators with special thanks to the visiting coaches who brought additional vessels, Harbor Master Kurt Bornheim for standing by on his boat to ensure safety and major thanks to the Hull Yacht Club for allowing us to use their facility.

Be On The Lookout For Cold-Stunned Turtles in Hull

In the past few days several critically endangered Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles have washed up on the beach in Hull. Thankfully--due to the eagle eyes of a few Hull residents—they were called into the New England Aquarium sea turtle hotline and they were able to pick them up and get some of them breathing and swimming and on the road to recovery.
