Business and Professional

May 1, 2024

In recognition of National Nurses Month this May, Hospice Satilla, a community-based non-profit organization, pays tribute to the dedicated and compassionate nurses who tirelessly care for terminally ill patients while offering invaluable support and spiritual guidance to patients and their families.

"Working in hospice is more than just a profession; it's a profound calling. Being there for individuals as they enter and depart from this world is an unparalleled honor," remarked Debra Golden, Executive Director of Hospice Satilla. "Our team is deeply committed to delivering the highest standard of care, and I'm immensely proud of the exceptional services we offer. Working alongside such a caring and dedicated staff at Hospice Satilla has been an immense blessing in my life."

Hospice Satilla currently employs a team of over 38 skilled nurses who provide compassionate care to an average of 65 patients daily. These nurses advocate for their patients, striving to deliver the best possible end-of-life care. As proponents of the hospice philosophy, they prioritize comfort and quality of life for individuals with a life expectancy of six months or less who have chosen hospice care. Their approach revolves around tailoring care plans to meet each patient's unique needs, encompassing a range of nursing activities to ensure comfort and dignity throughout their journey.
