Learn how to Build Raised Garden beds at our next Volunteer Day!

Next Saturday, July 15th, from 10-2 pm we will be volunteering to help the West Hill Refugee Center transform a vacant lot into raised garden beds to grow fruit and vegetables. We will be using tools from the #ToolLibraryAlbany and are looking for 10 additional volunteers to help. This is a kids-friendly day, and we welcome all skill levels. We will be there from 10-2 pm.

Thank you to Sunray Permaculture for volunteering their expertise, and to Radix for donating plants for the beds!

Academy Park Tour Wed, July 12th, 5.30 pm

Join HAF board president and Albany history enthusiast, Matt Malette, on a guided summer stroll around Academy Park and the surrounding architecture for July's walkabout tour.

Nestled in the heart of the city, this iconic park is steeped in history, boasting a mesmerizing blend of architectural marvels and captivating stories that have shaped Albany's past. Home to abolitionists, governors, and everyone in between this is one of the oldest parks in the city and is the location of the state's seat of government.

Meeting point: Albany County Judicial Center, 6 Lodge Street
