The Passing of Matt Peter

I know I share the same thoughts and sentiments as many friends and colleagues regarding the devastating news of the passing of Matt Peter.  Matt was a tireless public servant who played so many vital roles throughout the community.  I had the pleasure of working on the Blight to Betterment Task Force with Matt, among other projects.  Whenever I ran into Matt at an event or on the street, I was always greeted with a friendly "Hey" and a hug.  I ran into him once at Dove + Deer and he said "Are you submitting a grant application to the County tomorrow?"  My response was "I am now!"  Matt was a supporter of Historic Albany Foundation and frequent attendee at our events.  I will miss his warm personality, great wit and his sage advice whenever I asked for his help.  Matt was a very bright light that will be missed by so many.  I chose this photo of Matt that was shared by Joe Bonilla because this is how I choose to remember him.

Historic Albany Foundation Roadside Marker Program

A sneak peek at the first roadside marker to be installed in the City of Albany as part of this new program created and led by board president Matt Malette.  Stay tuned for more details as the unveiling ceremony is scheduled.
