60th Anniversary of the Building of the Empire State Plaza - Matthew Bender IV Signature Lecture

This year’s lecture will focus on the 60th anniversary of the approval to build the Empire State Plaza, and its lasting legacy on the City of Albany. The featured lecturer will be University at Albany History Professor David Hochfelder, also of 98 Acres. In addition to the lecture, the event will include a panel discussion moderated by the NYS Writers Institute Executive Director Paul Grondahl, with former NYS Assemblymember Jack McEneny, Scott Townsend of the Albany Riverfront Collaborative, and Kevin Hicks, a construction worker from the project.

All HAF members and sponsors of this program will be invited to an exclusive pre-lecture reception at the NYS Museum at 1pm

Albany exchange Neerbosch Workshop: Approaches to Conservation, Restoration & Sustainability

Join HAF, the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands, and the Van't Lindenhoutmuseum for the last workshop presentation. Presenters will highlight the week's work analyzing and brainstorming on creative and sensitive approaches to conserving the most intact portions of the Van Ostrande-Radliff House and expanding a mid-century modern 10 sided pavilion in Neerbosch, Nijmegen. This program will be offered virtually at the same time in the US and Netherlands.
