Harvard Art Museums Announce Free Admission

The Harvard Art Museums are thrilled to announce free admission for all visitors, effective immediately. This permanent change to our admission policy deepens our commitment to welcome visitors from around the corner and around the world to enjoy one of the largest and most renowned art collections in North America.

“Art is for everyone, and the Harvard Art Museums will now be free to all visitors,” said Lawrence S. Bacow, President of Harvard University. “This initiative ensures that every visitor to our campus will now have the opportunity to view and engage with the phenomenal collections in our care at the Harvard Art Museums.”

The free admission policy builds on the strength of recent visitation numbers, helped by free admission Sundays and the introduction of a monthly late-night event, which has activated our spaces in new and exciting ways. Together, these initiatives bolster our efforts to reach new audiences, broaden access, and build community through art. Thank you for your support, energy, and engagement during this period of enthusiastic growth. You can now visit every day for free!

The museums are open to all visitors Tuesday through Sunday, 10am to 5pm (except major holidays), and until 9pm during the monthly Harvard Art Museums at Night program on the last Thursday of each month. Don’t miss the current exhibitions From the Andes to the Caribbean: American Art from the Spanish Empire and American Watercolors, 1880–1990: Into the Light.
