Summer Reading Finale

FRI., AUG. 11, 10 AM-12 PM

Celebrate the end of the Library’s summer reading program and the return of Stretch the giraffe with a party! We will have ice cream, crafts, balloons, and loads of fun. All ages are welcome to attend.

Making the Most of Your Household Freezer

WED., AUG. 2, 6 PM

Learn the best way to freeze your extra garden produce, maximize freezer space, and eat from your freezer to stretch your budget, as well as the bottom line on frozen food longevity. Presented by Dana Parfitt and sponsored by the Circle of Friends.

Meet Up: WED., AUG. 16, 6 PM

Choose from a display of cookbooks labeled with appetizer, side dish, entrée, or dessert; available while supplies last. Bring your book and your creation to our Meet & Eat to share your culinary experiences.

Techy Teens & Savvy Seniors

MON., AUG. 7, 11 AM-1 PM

Teen volunteers will be at Thrive55+ to offer tech help for computers, phones, or tablets. Seniors and retirees are encouraged to register with Thrive55+. Teens can contact Ms. Jessa.

Bumpers & Books Planning Meeting

THURS., AUG. 10, 4 PM

Would you like to help plan the Library’s 8th Annual Bumpers & Books event? The Junior Friends need your input to help make this year's event bigger and better than ever before. Attendees of all ages are welcome to attend.

125th Anniversary of the Shennecossett Golf Course

Did you catch the June episode of @YourLibrary? Host Cathleen Clifford chatted with Shennecossett Golf Course Superintendent Eric Morrison about the anniversary. The Local History Room's display cases will house photos, trophies, dinnerware, and other artifacts through September.

Library Helper Day: Outdoor Cleanup

TUES., AUG. 22, 4 PM

Meet the Junior Friends at the Library entrance, and we will tidy up the grounds by picking up litter and recyclables. Bags will be provided, but bring your own work gloves. All ages are welcome. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be cancelled.

Construction Alert

Please be advised that the Library is undergoing building upgrades with construction to continue through September. Some meeting rooms will be closed and noise levels may be higher than usual during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.

REMINDER: The Library is not taking any book donations at this time due to planned renovations. Thank you for understanding!

Toiletry Drive Ends August 7

The Junior Friends are collecting unopened soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, and other travel-size products to donate to local shelters. Drop off toiletries to the collection bin at the library entrance.
