Virtual Program: The Sixties: Sixty Years Later

Virtual Program: If the Broom Fits: Halloween and the History of Witches
Tuesday, October 3 at 7pm
Have you ever wondered why witches are depicted as riding on brooms through the night sky? Learn how the benevolent image of a wise woman transformed into the malevolent figure of the witch we know today and more. Presented by Ehris Urban and Velya Jancz-Urban.  Register online at glencovelibrary.org.

The North Shore Programming Consortium consists of five local libraries (Bayville, Glen Cove, Gold Coast, Locust Valley and Oyster Bay) that have come together to bring our patrons more of a variety in adult programming in a more cost effective way. We hope you enjoy the programs now accessible from the Consortium!  This program is hosted by the Locust Valley Library.

St. Francis Hospital Blood Pressure Screening
Wednesday, October 4 from 1pm to 3pm
A registered nurse from St. Francis Hospital will be conducting free blood pressure screenings on the first Wednesday of each month from 1pm to 3pm.  No appointment required.  Participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Library Walking Club
Every Thursday at 9:15am (weather permitting)

Join us for something new, an at-your-own-pace hour walk every Thursday morning at 9:15 am. We will meet at the Glen Cove Public Library. All fitness levels are welcome, and we encourage everyone to go at their own pace. Our goal is to meet people, keep moving and see sights in Glen Cove.

Glen Cove Orchard Slide Show
Thursday, October 5 2pm
The Robert R. Coles Long Island History Room presents a photographic tour of The Orchard, a neighborhood of historic significance to Glen Cove. Settled in the early 1900s, this enclave in the southern part of the city was home to many Italian immigrants.

Virtual Program: Art Talk: Botticelli
Thursday, October 5 at 7pm

Knitting and Crocheting Club
Every Friday at 10am
Meet up with other knitters or crocheters. Whether you’re new to knitting or you’ve been doing it for years, it’s always more fun with friends!   Start a new project or bring a current one. Participants should bring their own needles and yarn.
