Seattle, WA - Gallery 110 presents Love Notes, a series of new mixed media paintings where artist Kurt Erickson embarks on a creative journey that transcends conventional artistic communication. Erickson invites viewers into a personal and contemplative experience, where emotions are shared, understood and felt on a level that words cannot easily reach.

By relinquishing reliance on words and symbols, Erickson harnesses the combined power of gesture, line, and color to craft an evocative visual language, one that lays bare the intricacies of human emotion and experience. This shift allows him to communicate in a more abstract yet deeply personal manner, inviting viewers into an intimate exploration of feelings and experiences.

The Power of Gesture: Love Notes thrives on the expressive potential of gesture. Every brushstroke and sweeping motion encapsulates emotions, from the exuberance of joy to the depths of introspection.

The Elegance of Line: The delicate dance of lines in Erickson’s work enhances the narrative. These lines, whether bold and pronounced or soft and intricate, guide viewers on an emotional voyage.

Hints of Evocative Color: Color, a cornerstone of Erickson’s creative process, serves as the heartbeat of Love Notes. The harmonious interplay of hues is meticulously orchestrated to evoke feelings that language often struggles to articulate.

Love Notes unveils emotions through these synergies of gesture, line, and color, dismantling the confines of conventional artistic expression. With every stroke, line, and hue, Erickson’s artwork extends an invitation to engage in a silent yet profound dialogue, one where emotions flow freely, unburdened by the constraints of words.

Love Notes will be on display at Gallery 110 from April 4 – 27, 2024. Gallery hours are Thursday – Saturday from 12pm – 5pm and by appointment. For additional information, or to schedule a preview or private viewing of the exhibition, contact [email protected].
