Thank You Volunteers!

The world celebrates International Volunteer Day on December 5, 2022.
This provided us with the perfect opportunity to say

THANK YOU

to all of the wonderful people who have given of their time and talents, volunteering for the Friends of Wood Memorial Library & Museum over the past 51 years.

The Friend’s dedicated, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful volunteers are the life blood of the organization. They provide vital support to annual fundraising events such as the golf tournament, and gingerbread house festival. They serve as docents for educational programs, field trips, and in Nowashe Village. They assist in maintaining our archive of local historical collections, and they help all of our programs and events go off without a hitch.

At our 50th Anniversary Dinner, we debuted a video celebrating the contributions of the many, many, volunteers that have made the Friends into the strong and vibrant organization that it is today. We have decided to upload the video to our website as another, lasting way to say Thank You to our volunteers for all of their contributions over the past half century!

The FUN...
We rely on volunteers who generously contribute their time and talents. Volunteers perform a variety of tasks —from helping to set-up for receptions & exhibits, to greeting visitors and teaching children. Like the outdoors?  We need help with gardening in Nowashe Village.  Prefer being inside? You can help with the archives, or by shelving books and answering the phone. At the highest level, volunteers serve on our board of directors and are charged with the crucial task of governing the organization.

The Friends!
Expand our reach!
One of the best ways to support the Friends is to recruit others to volunteer. Sharing the work with friends is a great way to make volunteering even more fun for you. So don’t be shy about asking—studies show that most volunteers start because they were asked to join in for the cause. Become a part of our community of Friends and join in the Fun!
