Folk Music Society Welcomes Sweet Friends & Ironwood to Creative 360 Stage

Midland, MI - On Saturday, April 22, the Folk Music Society of Midland will take over the Creative 360 Bayliss Stage with a spring concert featuring two Michigan groups: Sweet Friends in Music and Ironwood.  The event starts at 7 pm at 1517 Bayliss Street in Midland, Michigan.

Local favorites, Sweet Friends in Music, includes Bob Rostollan on guitar and bass, Kelly Sible on banjo, fiddle and mandolin, and Julia Dryzga on guitar.  They have been together for over 10 years playing bluegrass, oldies, folk and Celtic.  On the 22nd they will welcome vocalist and instrumentalist Robin Abbott as well as singer/songwriter, vocalist and instrumentalist Kristine Goodwin.

Ironwood, a husband and wife duo from the Detroit area, specialize in original tunes as well as traditional Irish and American folk music. A favorite act at the Michigan Renaissance Festival, they are known for their high energy style, with Anna on lead vocal, fiddle and mandolin and Mark rocking the acoustic guitar and electric bass.

“We are really excited to have these two groups headline our spring show,” remarked Folk Society Member Kris Goodwin. “There will be something for everyone in the audience, from sweet traditional tunes to foot stompin’ originals. The Bayliss Stage will definitely come alive that night!”

General admission tickets for the concert are $10 for Folk Society Members and $12 for the general public and can be purchased at becreative360.org/events or by calling the arts center at 989-837-1885.  Doors open at 6:30 pm and music starts at 7 pm. Feel free to bring refreshments.
