April / Celebratory Weekend with our 2022-23 Fellows

Thank you to our local community for taking part in our FAWC Friday series and energizing 24 Pearl Street each month. This is a celebratory and bittersweet weekend for our 2022-23 cohort of Fellows as we close our Fellow Friday series tonight with Visual Art Fellows, Elizabeth Flood and Sichong Xie, as well as Writing Fellow, John Murillo.

Tomorrow, our Visual Art Fellows will open their studios to the community, and we will gather in the Stanley Kunitz Common Room to celebrate the launch of Shankpainter (#62), a yearly tradition of printed works by the Fine Arts Work Center Writing Fellows, with the first collection dating back to 1970. Below is a preview of work by second-year Writing Fellow, Christa Romanosky.

We are also pleased to share the news that past FAWC Trustee and Fellow Ann Patchett was recently awarded a 2021 National Humanities Medal by President Biden, alongside past FAWC faculty member Richard Blanco. Learn more here.
