“NANO: Making the invisible - visible, the inaudible - audible,”

Nanoscientist, James Gimzewski, and media artist, Victoria Vesna, worked in collaboration to create the groundbreaking project, “NANO,” where art meets science. Their talk will present their large-scale, immersive exhibit, first displayed at LACMA in 2003, that addressed issues of scale, perception, frequency and vibrations that foreshadowed the impact of invisible and inaudible effects on humans.

Wilton Cardinal Gregory is the seventh Archbishop of The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., and the first African American Cardinal in the Roman Catholic Church. Cardinal Gregory will share his experiences regarding church issues, including pastoral statements on the death penalty, social justice, euthanasia, and interreligious affairs.
