THE SHOW:

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID
Book By Kevin Del Aguila
Music and Lyrics By Michael Mahler & Alan Schmuckler
Based on the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” Books by Jeff Kinney

Middle school, ugh. It’s the worst. But Greg is determined not to be at the bottom of the popularity chart. He’ll leave that to his weird neighbor, Fregley. Or maybe Greg’s best friend, Rowley Jefferson. But it’s not going to be Greg… no way.

DIRECTED AND STAGED BY AHNIKA LEXVOLD
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR DANIEL COLLETTE
MUSIC DIRECTOR KATE THIEM

AUDITION INFORMATION:

If you have auditioned with the playhouse before, we are changing things up a little bit for Youtheatre shows! See “Youtheatre Auditions” for a more detailed breakdown of how auditions will run.

Auditions will consist of a monologue, song, and dance portion. You will learn the dance at auditions but should have your monologue and song learned and memorized before auditions. Monologues and songs for auditions are from the show and can be found below. Please choose only one monologue and one song from the options to perform!

There will be an optional (but encouraged!) audition workshop held at the rehearsal hall on March 2 @ 10:30 AM where you can learn the audition dance ahead of time, be able to practice your songs with an accompanist, and work your monologues in groups. This workshop is designed to alleviate some of the stress that goes with auditioning and also to ensure that anyone who wishes will have the resources to feel prepared for their audition.

Auditions start at 4:30 with everyone learning the dance together and performing it for the director. Arrive early to allow time to fill out/turn in audition forms beforehand!
