From: Easthampton City Arts+

Easthampton City Arts (ECA) the ECA Public Art Committee, the Easthampton Planning Department, and Department of Public Works are pleased to announce a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Design Plan for a new, original, environmentally-focused public art installation and/or design features that will be fabricated and installed on or adjacent to Emerald Place in the New City neighborhood of Easthampton, MA. The selected Artist/Designer will create a Design Plan for a public installation that will address the local impacts of climate/environmental change.

Please note: this initial funding — an honorarium of $5,000 — will support the development of the Design Plan only; additional funding will be provided at a later date to support the fabrication and installation of the proposed project. The review committee is looking for original proposals for a process by which a cohesive design for a permanent installation — related to climate change and/or environmental impact — will emerge through a strategic sequencing of research, community engagement, and thoughtful synthesization. Additional details regarding the process, timeline, and specifications are included here. An application information session will take place via Google Meet on Tuesday October 10th at 5:30pm.

This project is being funded with an Action Grant from the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Program from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.

Apply To Exhibit At ECA Gallery!

We invite you to apply to exhibit your artwork at ECA Gallery! Artists must apply through ECA’s Annual Open Call, which takes place in late summer / early fall. The deadline to apply for this year’s “open call” is Tuesday October 24, 2023 at 5:00pm. Applications will be reviewed in Fall 2023 and artists will be selected to exhibit their work during the 2024 calendar year. Applications are reviewed by a panel of ECA Coordinating Committee members and additional representatives from the greater visual arts community. All applicants will receive notification in December 2023. Please feel free to spread the word!

The Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) just opened up their application process -- and we encourage all the artists, educators, and community advocates in our local and extended community to apply for any projects you'd like to bring to Easthampton, through the Easthampton Cultural Council (ECC)! No project is too big or small to be considered! Detailed information regarding how to apply can be found here.

Info Session: Members of ECC & ECA will be offering an "application info session" on Wednesday September 27th at 6pm at ECA Gallery. ECA Gallery is located at 43 Main Street @ Old Town Hall.
