DUBLIN, Ohio (July 7, 2022) – Train Interpretations, a solo exhibition of photographs of the American railroad scene by Columbus photographer Frederick J. Ripley, will be on view at Dublin Arts Council, 7125 Riverside Dr., Dublin, Ohio from Aug. 2 through Sept. 10, 2022.

Train Interpretations consists of scenes of modern railroading in the context of history and tradition, reflecting Ripley’s interest in history and geography. Ripley has created more than 60,000 images since 1988.  His 20- by-30-inch enlargements are made from high-resolution scans of original transparencies which are then dry mounted and framed.

“I particularly enjoy illustrating the railroad’s evolving interaction with its environment and portraying it in settings of natural beauty throughout my favorite regions of our country,” says Ripley.

Open houses to meet the artist are planned for Saturday, Aug. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dublin Arts Council. Regular gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibition and open houses are free of charge. Additional information can be found at www.dublinarts.org.
