'Do Tell' Storytelling Festival 2023

Arts and Entertainment

January 23, 2023

From: Do Tell Storytelling Festival

The 8th Annual “Do Tell” Storytelling Festival will be returning to the Cultural Center this year! If you like a good story with a side of laughter, plan to join us in the MMCC Auditorium.

This year’s Storytelling Festival will feature the talents of Carol Cain, our Emcee, Antonio Rocha, and Andy Offutt Irwin. These tellers will be bringing their comical and heart-warming tales that will bring joy to your soul.

Carol Cain

She lights up the stage with her zany folktales, family stories, and award-winning historical monologues. An experienced teller in her own right, she guides audiences and tellers with easy rapport through the shared journey that denotes a truly satisfying festival. Carol has been a member of the Azalea Storytelling Festival planning committee since 1997 and emcee of the Azalea Festival for the past 11 years and was a featured teller in 2015.

Antonio Rocha

A native of Brazil, Antonio presents a unique fusion of verbal narrative and mime that he’s shared in sixteen countries across six continents. Featuring a tenor voice, realistic sound effects and exquisite moves, his repertoire includes stories of his homeland, age appropriate folktales, exquisite mime illusions and some hilarious characters in outrageous situations.

Andy Offutt Irwin

With a manic, Silly Putty voice, astonishing mouth noises, and heart-filled stories, Andy Offutt Irwin is equal parts mischievous schoolboy and the Marx Brothers, peppered with a touch of the Southern balladeer. A storyteller, theatre director, singer songwriter, and Shakespearean actor, Andy has been Artist-in-Residence at Emory University’s Oxford College since 1991.
