Get ready to embark on a literary adventure! The Friends of the Library of Collier County are thrilled to announce the grand return of their 5th annual Local Author Book Fair. Join us at the South Regional Library on Saturday, November 18th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It's an event you won't want to miss!

In the lead-up to this exciting event, our public service librarians had the pleasure of sitting down with some of our favorite local authors. To dive into these engaging author interviews, all you have to do is visit our YouTube channel or check out our virtual programming page on our website. It's your backstage pass to the creative minds that bring stories to life.

Curious to know who's on the guest list for this year's Book Fair? Look no further; simply click here for the full lineup. Join us for a day of books, authors, and literary discovery.

Does your child need practice reading? Does your child like dogs? If so, we are delighted to share some exciting information with you. In collaboration with Golden PAWS Assistance and Therapy Dogs, we extend a cordial invitation for you and your child to partake in a unique experience at the Headquarters Library. On the third Saturday of every month, between the hours of 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM, we offer a remarkable opportunity for your child to engage with a certified therapy dog, either through reading to them or simply enjoying the pleasure of their companionship.

The Golden PAWS Assistance and Therapy Dogs possess an exceptional capacity for attentive listening, providing an unobtrusive and comforting presence that empowers children to hone their reading skills in an environment free of judgment. No prior registration is required.

Would you like to gain access to more libraries and e-resources? Collier County Public Library cardholders are encouraged to obtain a SWFLN reciprocal borrowing sticker. This sticker allows patrons to sign up for library cards in four different counties, such as Charlotte, Desoto, Hendry, and Lee. Obtaining a SWFLN sticker is easy, provided that your account with Collier County Public Library is in good standing and up to date.

If your account meets these criteria, we will affix a SWFLN sticker to your library card. With this sticker, you can visit any of the four other counties to sign up for a library card. The library card obtained in other counties is valid until the end of the current calendar year and can be renewed each year, as long as your account with CCPL remains in good standing.

This program is made possible by the Southwest Florida Library Network (SWFLN), a non-profit organization that promotes interlibrary collaboration and more. To obtain your SWFLN sticker, simply visit one of the Collier County Public Libraries today.

For additional information on SWFLN Reciprocal Borrowing, please visit SWFLN.org/reciprocal-borrowing/.
