Residents may now explore their creativity using one of Wichita Public Library’s new iMac computers in the Digital Pavilion at the Advanced Learning Library, 711 W. 2nd St. iMac computers provide residents different programs to create, work and stay informed.

iMac computers are created by Apple and are highly requested by Library users. Customers have requested access to Apple computers for many years. Apple computers are ideal for people working on graphic design, video and photo editing projects.

“Some customers prefer Apple to PC, but most customers want access to Apple computers for design and editing purposes,” said Jeff Tate, Digital Services Manager for Wichita Public Library. “Apple computers excel at creative work, and we are seeing a higher demand for assistance with graphic design, video and photo editing and audio production.”

Each iMac has the full Adobe suite, which includes Photoshop for editing photos and Premiere Pro for editing videos. There is also Final Cut Pro for video editing and Logic Pro for sound editing. The computers will also feature Microsoft Office.

The iMacs are made possible through grant funds from the South Central Kansas Library System.
