Government and Politics

October 29, 2022

From: City Of Tucson

Greetings,

Connect with Tucson Water and the One Water 2100 Master Plan at Cyclovia this Sunday, October 30th. Cyclovia is an open streets block party for all people to walk, bike, roll, or scoot. Experience Tucson’s streets in a whole new way as you move throughout the City. Find the Tucson Water team at the corner of N 6th Ave and Rillito St, near the Arizona Complete Health Hub, to learn more about the One Water 2100 Master Plan. Fill your water bottle at the Hydration Station, ask us questions about the Master Plan, and learn more about how you can shape our water future. We look forward to seeing you there!

Happy Halloween! Do you know how much water it takes to make a single chocolate bar? It takes about 450 gallons, or nine rain barrels worth of water, to make one bar. Check out this article for more.

Keep an eye out for our new One Water 2100 public survey. Since our August Town Hall the team at Tucson Water has been working on developing a survey to help inform the Master Plan. The survey is being developed with both internal staff and external stakeholder feedback, as well as with help from our technical partners. Your participation will give us feedback about how we can manage our water resources for the next 80 years and beyond.

On October 18th, City of Tucson Mayor and Council gave a notice of intention to update rates for both Tucson Water and Environmental and General Services Department (EGSD) customers beginning in July 2023 and progressing through June 2027. Tucson Water and EGSD are holding a series of information sessions at various locations throughout the City, with the remaining three taking place Nov. 7th, 9th, and 10th. Come visit the One Water 2100 Master Plan team at these sessions if you are interested. See the next locations and learn more by following the link below.
