DPH Media Update
Vaccination Clinic This Weekend

DPH is hosting a back-to-school immunization clinic Saturday. This effort is especially crucial this year because children as young as 6 months old can now get a COVID-19 vaccination along with standard immunizations. The clinic offers parents and guardians a way to keep their children healthy and in school as much as possible. The opportunity to get no-cost immunizations and COVID-19 vaccinations is scheduled at the John C. Murphy Health Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and again during the same hours on Sept. 10. Walk-ins are welcome! Students are asked to bring a copy of their shot records with them.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s schedule of immunizations for children and adolescents can be found here. Media who wish to cover the Saturday event should contact Sara Dayley in advance of the event at [email protected].
Students also can receive no-cost immunizations and COVID-19 vaccinations weekdays at our three DPH health clinics during normal operating hours of 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. and 1 - 3:00 p.m. Extended hours are also available through Sept.17. To see the list of extended hours, please click here. Clinics are closed on Labor Day, Sept. 5.
August is National Immunization Awareness Month, and it comes as many area students head back to school. DPH encourages you to make sure your children are up to date on immunizations and vaccines, including the COVID-19 vaccine, to protect against serious illness.

National Health Center Week
DPH is joining the National Association of Community Health Centers in celebration of National Health Center Week, August 7-13. This week is dedicated to raising awareness of the support health centers provide to their communities. Community health centers serve as the beacon of strength, service and care in their communities. Every year, health centers continue to find innovative ways to provide preventative and primary care to their patients.
DPH has three health centers with the purpose to provide high quality public health services for everyone. Our health centers aree:

John C. Murphy Health Center
North Central Community Health Center
South County Health Center

Anyone is welcome in our health centers, regardless of the ability to pay. Our facilities accept many major types of insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid, and for St. Louis County residents without health insurance, we offer a sliding fee scale based on several criteria. DPH’s social media accounts (@STLCountyDOH) will be highlighting our health centers throughout this week as well. For more information on our health centers, please click here.
