The Greater Round Rock Community Foundation is excited to announce a name change, and it is now the Central Texas Community Foundation (CTXCF).  Established in 2004, the organization already serves donors and nonprofits in Round Rock, Austin, Bastrop, Burnet, Cedar Park, Fort Hood, Georgetown, Hutto, Killeen, Leander, Liberty Hill, Pflugerville, Taylor and beyond.  “The foundation has invested in communities across Central Texas for years, so it makes sense that the name of the organization reflects that reality,” said Kerrie Stannell of the Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center.

The public announcement of the new name is coming in conjunction with the celebration of the 175th anniversary of Williamson County.  To celebrate both, Central Texas Community Foundation is sponsoring an upcoming art contest - the deadline to participate is March 20.  One month later, on April 20th the winners will be announced at the dedication of the new mural near the county courthouse during the spring Art Stroll.  Marco Cruz from the Opportunities for Williamson & Burnet Counties organization stated that “the new mural in Georgetown will honor the Central Texas Community Foundation with a commemorative plaque, and our organization is proud to have been working with this incredible foundation for over fifteen years.”

Additionally, $8,500 in scholarships were awarded by CTXCF to students across Williamson County in an essay contest celebrating the county’s milestone.  “Support for students is just one of the reasons we partner with the Central Texas Community Foundation,” said Linda Medina of the Pflugerville Education Foundation.

Community foundations typically help build philanthropy in a particular geographic area.  According to Nyle Maxwell, Chairman of the CTXCF Board, “When we focus on philanthropy together, limited resources are better able to be strategically directed, and we create stronger communities all around.”  With the incredible growth in recent years in Central Texas, geographic demarcations among communities have been fused. A few of the services offered to donors, nonprofits and local communities include:  customized investment strategies and streamlined processes for grant-making and scholarships, as well as a robust solution for short-term disaster relief.  Amy Merida, Executive Director of CTXCF added, “While there may be different areas of interest and/or needs in different local communities, CTXCF wants to leverage its strong administrative and investment capabilities to propel philanthropy to a new level of engagement across the Region. We excel at innovative solutions for every philanthropic goal and exceptional customer service.”
