General Plan Update: Review and Comment on Moorpark's Roadmap for the Future Online!

The City of Moorpark is pleased to announce a critical milestone in the development of the City’s updated General Plan: publication of the Plan’s preliminary goals and policies for public review. The draft goals and policies published today were developed by the public General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) over the last several months based on the comments provided by stakeholders over the course of the General Plan Update process. The goals and policies are intended to provide the roadmap towards achieving the Vision Statement for the City drafted by the public and GPAC, and approved by the City Council on February 3rd, 2021. Topics addressed include land use, mobility, infrastructure, economic development, open space, parks and recreation, conservation, safety and noise. Now, the City is asking for the public’s input on whether the preliminary goals and policies reflect the vision and values shared by the community.

Community members are invited to review the draft goals and policies and provide their comments on the project website:

At the 4th General Plan Community Workshop being held on September 24, 2022, community members will have an opportunity to speak with their neighbors and members of the General Plan Update project team about the goals and policies, and to provide comments in person. The Workshop will be held in an Open House format from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center’s Sycamore Room, 4550 Tierra Rejada Rd, Moorpark, CA. Attendees are invited to come and go as they please, however a brief overview presentation covering the same material will be provided at two times: 10:30 am and 12:00 pm. Spanish translation will be available, as well as refreshments and raffle prizes.

Feedback provided online and in person will be used to refine the goals and policies for inclusion in the final General Plan document, which will be provided for public review later this year.
